You have received this newsletter because you are one of Icon’s
many friends, business associates or acquaintances worldwide.
If you do not want to be on our mailing list please just hit the reply
to this e mail and we will remove you immediately, with our apologies
for troubling you.
If, on the other hand, you share our interests in aviation, transport,
the public sector and making things work better, welcome.
This first newsletter is designed to confirm our mailing
list, so it is short. For those who do not know us very well, an introduction
to what we do can be found on the home page of our web site.
Public Opinion on Air Traffic Management
We have been commissioned to find past surveys that measure public opinion
on Air Traffic Management (ATM). While ATM provides the single integrating
infrastructure for aviation, it seems that there is little awareness amongst
the general
public
of its importance or even what it does. Do you know of any surveys that have
been carried out in the last 5 years or so? If you do we would be delighted
to hear from you.
Flight-Deck Safety
Our report for the Joint Aviation Authorities on the effects of commercialisation
on flight-deck safety continues to raise interest. That the Flight Safety
Foundation
chose
to reprint
the report is a fine indication of its relevance. The executive
summary can be found by clicking on this link.
Co-operative Vehicle Highway Systems
We are members of a consortium which is undertaking a study for the UK Department
for Transport on the potential of Co-operative Vehicle Highway Systems (CVHS).
Our role in the team is to consider the impact of CVHS on future government
policy in transport and other related areas. A press
release can be viewed
by clicking on this link.
