MSc Course Lecture
The lecture covers the general basis for performance measurement
including the use of tests to ensure that the structure and content
of the measures lead to the required business outcomes.
It looks at some standard measures of performance in aviation and
considers the changes that have resulted in the requirement for
a comprehensive set of performance measures for ATM.
Key Performance Areas are identified and also some of the
trade-offs that have to be reconciled.
The real difficulties with providing coherent and
complete qualitative
and quantitative data are identified.
Detailed consideration is given to the results for KPIs on cost
effectiveness, safety, capacity and delays, and flight efficiency.
